1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup butter
3-4 cold tablespoons water
Stir together flour and salt. Cut shortening and butter into flour. Sprinkle with 3 tablespoons water. Toss together until the dough comes together. If needed, add another tablespoon water. Roll between two pieces of clear wrap, dusted with flour.
To bake unfilled pie, bake at 375 for 10-20 minutes or until lightly browned.
NOTE: I usually cut the butter and shortening into flour with my food processor, then pour into a bowl to stir the water in by hand.
